Darrell Peacoc: Guest photographer 2023

Darrell Peacock is a street/documentary and portrait photographer based out of Los Angeles, CA. Originally born and raised in Queen, NY, Darrell found a love for photography at the age of 19 while working as a camp counselor. Darrell would collect images on disposable film cameras and share them with his co-workers and campers at the end of each session. He then grew into phone photography before his long time partner convinced him to pick up a DSLR and give photography a real chance. Fast forward to today, you will find Darrell working the street scenes of Los Angeles or documenting the people and events at the church he attends. Darrell is known for high contrast black & white with a sprinkle of color in his collection of images. Darrell contributes his greatest attribute to be his ability to see and compose beforehand. It is those scenes that most people will walk by or ignore that draws him in. Darrell draws inspiration not just from his own archive but from some of the greats like Gordon Parks and Roy DeCarava just to name a few. He also does a great service of honoring his peers today by continuing to push the needle on what is photography as an art form. Darrell places a lot of his success on his faith in God and believes that with Him, all things are possible!
