Grayson McDaniel: Guest photographer 2024

Grayson McDaniel is a Montgomery-Based photographer who specializes is candid and documentary style photos.

Grayson earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography at Auburn University at Montgomery. During this time, they started a freelance photography & videography business, Celestial Lens LLC, with their partner Aiyana Hawkins.

Grayson began their photography career as an event photographer for various live music events in Montgomery, Alabama. Through these events, they discovered their passion for connecting with local artists and using their camera as a way to spotlight the talent of others.

During their time in undergrad, Grayson was introduced to the work of LaToya Ruby Frazier, Deana Lawson, and Cindy Sherman’s Untitled Film Stills series. These photographers influenced Grayson to create photos that focused on themes of gender roles, sexuality, and introspection.
