Zachary Lucas is a self-taught fine art photographer born and raised in Los Angeles. His work illuminates the uncomfortable and often intentionally ignored taboos of modern society. Lucas had an artistic upbringing, exploring every medium imaginable before settling on photography. His traditional education pulled him from his artistic endeavors as he reluctantly engaged in corporate America for close to a decade before making his way back to art.

Full Circle
It takes wisdom to find new perspectives in unchanging circumstances. I first picked up a camera as a fun hobby after my dad told me that if he could do his career over again he’d do it with a camera in his hand and not staring at spreadsheets. My childhood photography passion was eventually overtaken by the desire to fit in and follow the path outlined for everyone with school and a traditional job. A decade later, I decided that I was done trying to get a square peg into a round hole. This series is a reminder that everything comes full circle if you let it, and if you’re paying attention you’ll see the signs that you’ve been on the right path all along.
